Hello!
My name is Marie Michels and I am the School Counselor here at Charlo. I was born in Montana, and there’s no place I would rather be! I love to fish, hike and spend time with my family. I graduated from the University of Montana with a masters in social work and am a licensed therapist. I went on to get my masters in school counseling. I am also registered with the national board of school counselors. The Montana School Counseling Association seeks to promote student success in 3 domains: Personal/Social, Academics, and Career Readiness.
I am here to support your student(s), whether that is on an individual level, small groups, or through school-wide classroom counseling lessons. Each week the students K-8 have a weekly in-class group time to connect and talk about a topic relevant to their age group. High school students have group time bi-monthly and the focus is mainly on connection, through topics of interest aligned with their age. This page will have a family newsletter relevant to the topic of the week or weeks. The newsletter will help you continue the conversation at home. Check back for updated topics!
