We are excited to announce an *ALL EXPENSE PAID* education opportunity for high school students, aged 15, 16 or 17, to our Nation’s Capital, Washington DC from Monday, June 3 - Friday, June 7, 2024.
The FRS Youth Tour brings more than 100 high school students from rural communities across the nation to Washington DC for five days to learn about legislative and government processes and the importance of quality broadband connections. NTCA Member Companies, including Blackfoot Communications, sponsors two students each year to attend and see our nation’s capital in action.
Students will have the opportunity to tour famous historical sites and monuments; Meet with FCC and congressional staff, experience a special cultural performance, build relationships with peers that can last a lifetime, and develop leadership skills.
Student Criteria:
- The student must be 15, 16 or 17 at the time of the Youth Tour.
- The student’s parent or guardian must be served by Blackfoot Communications residential services.
- A short Essay Question “I appreciate my community because …. (500 words)”; and
- Deadline for Student Application: February 29, 2024
